Pippa Hi, I’m really happy to be here today, thanks Books Amour for having me and Jonathon here. Our writer was due to join us but told us after the stunt we pulled on her blog last week that she thought we were fully capable of going it alone.
*she peaks at Jonathon* It was your fault you know, dragging me out of there, like a a…caveman. *she giggles*
Jonathon My fault? Have you forgotten that it was you that brought up the subject of the tramping hut? *he quirks an eyebrow*
*Pippa rubs a hand briskly over his thigh, smiling at him* Sorry, sorry what did you want to ask us?
Please tell us about you: job, hobbies, special talents, and anything else you would want to share.
*Pippa glances at Jonathon and answers first* I’ve always loved hiking, having completed the 3 Peaks in the UK and also the highest peak in Ireland. Anything outdoors really. *She absentmindedly looks at Jonathon, chewing her bottom lip*
Jonathon Don’t forget your special talents *he laughs huskily at Pippa’s look of askance* Not that, but your chefing. This girl *he nods at Pippa, eyes shining* is a mean chef. Even something as simple as scrambled eggs is delicious when cooked by her. I’m a lucky man.
*Pippa beams from ear to ear.*
What’s your favourite meal?
Jonathon believe it or not, it’s tuna with pasta.
Pippa and sun dried tomatoes, don’t forget them. It’s what lifted the meal up from the ordinary.
*Jonathon took a sip of water, and placed the glass back on the table* They were delicious, certainly, but not what changed the night to extraordinary.
*Pippa laughed at his intense look at her* Good job Cait’s not here, she’d be cross at us bringing this up again.
*The pair exchange a lingering look*
Tell us about the first time you met.
*Pippa blows back a stray curl from her face and sits back in her chair* He was hell on legs. I was late for our interview and he was simply beastly to me. I had just taken a flight from London to Auckland, with a stop over in Melbourne and I was pretty knackered. But it all turned out good.
*Jonathon nods* I had heard rumours about the way you had been hired. I couldn’t believe that the woman I had seen tumbling into reception, drawing every red blooded male’s attention to her was capable of sleeping with the boss in order to get a job. Fortunately we figured it out!
Care to share future plans?
Pippa Very fortunately, we sorted it out… because we’re getting married next week. *her grin stretches from ear to ear as the sparkle in her eyes rivals the most expensive diamonds*
Jonathon We’re getting married on Surveyor’s Peak, where we had our first night together. In fact, we’re due now to speak to Jean-Pierre, the chef who is creating our Wedding Breakfast.
Pippa , as she stands Well it wasn’t quite as abrupt an ending as on Cait’s blog, but pretty close. Again, thanks for having us Book Amour. I really hope you enjoy our story.
Romancing the Seas
by Cait O'Sullivan
Sous-chef Pippa Renshaw thinks a change of scene will mend her bruised heart, so she swaps her job in a prestigious London restaurant to head-chef on a cruise ship sailing around New Zealand. A great plan until she meets her new CEO, the delectable Jonathon Eagleton, and discovers she has to share a suite with him.
Even though sparks fly whenever they are together, Jonathon steadfastly keeps her at arm’s length, which suits Pippa just fine because she’s still getting over the betrayal of the last time she had a relationship with the boss.
The situation is starting to feel like solitary confinement until a thunderstorm traps them in a tramper’s hut while hiking. Suddenly a different kind of storm unleashes inside the hut.
But will they be able to go back to their previous status now the line has been crossed?
