Welcome J.T. Cheyanne! Please start off by telling us a little about yourself.
Hi, Lia. Thank you for having me. Let’s see, I’m engaged and between us, my fiancé and I have four sons and a daughter. I love chocolate, Chinese food and vampires, not necessarily in that order. I’m terrified of spiders and I’m a terrible cook, mostly, because I get engrossed in a book and forget I have the stove on.
Is Ocean’s Kiss a single title, or part of a series?
It’s presently a single title, but my daughter read it, and it seems I have a second book to write. She liked one of the members of the Unit.
What were your inspirations for the story?
Dominic was inspired by my brother. He’s in the navy, though not a SEAL. I have great admiration for our men and women in the armed forces.
Please share your setting for Ocean’s Kiss. Have you ever lived or visited there? If so, what did you like most?
I haven’t lived in Walton County, Florida but I have vacationed there numerous times. I have a dear friend who owns a gorgeous home on Blackcreek. The beaches in Walton County are amazing. Pristine white sand joins dazzling blue water. I also enjoy the variety of sea life I’ve seen while walking along the shore including dolphins as mentioned in the story and once a beautiful ray skimming just under the surface of the waves.
When did the writing bug first bite?
I’ve always had stories running around in my head. I never thought to put them to paper until Kim Smith drug me into the world of roleplay online. Several friends there told me I should be writing my own stories. That was in 2011. They pushed and pushed and we now have Ocean’s Kiss. I love every one of them for their faith in me. Have to give a shout out to my Warden family and especially my beautiful angel.
Who are you favorite authors, book/series?
J.R. Ward and her series The Black Dagger Brotherhood is my favorite hands down. Vishous owns my heart, true. Would have loved it even more if Vishous and Butch ended up together, but….you can’t have everything. Special Forces by Alexander Voinov, made me want a big Russkie. J.D. Robb and her Eve Dallas series is another favorite. Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalker series, Kim Harrison’s, The Hollows series. Kindle Alexander, an up and coming new author. I enjoy her work. Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. The list goes on and on.
What is your most favorite childhood memory?
That’s a hard one, there’s a lot to choose from. Two come to mind, playing war with my brothers and cousins in the ditch at my grandmother’s house, and Treetop Toy store. We climbed the trees in the backyard and littered the branches with toys. Our friends came to ‘shop’ in the tree branches. I was a bit of a tomboy.
Do you have any hobbies or special things you like to do in your spear time?
I coached cheerleading for thirteen years. I enjoyed passing along something I love to the girls I coached. I also enjoyed getting to know them and watching them grow up.
Boxers, brief or commando?
Commando, definitely. Easy access.
Favorite eye color?
Green or dark brown…it’s a tie.
What's the strangest thing you've heard or seen?
Just today my daughter called me into her room to show me a picture of a young man poking his tongue through a rather large hole in his chin. He had multiple piercings in his cheeks and nose as well. I thought it was tattoed on his chin at first. Very strange sight.

At the age of seven, Devan McDaniel awakened to a new world full of color, noise, and clarity. On vacation with her mother, she waded into the warm waters of the
and her life changed. It, the debilitating affliction she’d struggled with
since birth, disappeared. But, Devan wasn’t free. To control It, she maintained
a strict routine of daily visits to the salty depths. Lack of vigilance sent
her careening back into Its black void of sensory deprivation. Devan didn’t
mind the swims. She loved the ocean and her Furies. The three dolphins had
shown up almost a year after her family moved to the seaside and were her
constant companions when she entered the sea. But lately, Devan yearned for
more. She longed to find a man who could love her and accept It.
Dominic Cole lived and breathed the ocean. He’d entered the Navy and qualified for one of the elite SEAL teams. After a disillusioning mission, he retired. Unable to separate from his love of the sea, he settled down in
where he set to work as a marine biologist. The small cove he researched
offered up many interesting surprises, including three friendly dolphins.
Dominic’s peace didn’t last. His highly tuned senses warned him danger lurked.
A blind date arranged by mutual friends brought Dominic and Devan together. Stunned by his immediate reaction to her, Dominic found himself agreeing to diving lessons. In a matter of weeks, Devan mastered the skills required and in the process, fell mask-over-flippers in love with the powerful, stoic instructor. Resisting Devan’s allure, Dominic struggled to keep his hands to himself. When he finally gave in, his worst fears were realized.
Would he find Devan before It and his enemy ended her life?
~~ Excerpt ~~
“Devan? What happened?”
Her words, when she finally spoke, emerged muffled against his skin. He eased her back away from him.
“I can’t understand you, sweetheart. Is this another It attack?”
Devan took a deep breath and latched onto his warm brown eyes. She shook her head. “A man…at the office. He knew I was going diving.” She saw the confusion in his eyes. “Dom, I haven’t told anyone at the office about the lessons. I haven’t even told Terrica, my best friend. There’s no way he could know, unless he’s been spying on me.” The trembling started again despite her best efforts to control it. “He could have been…the person who shot at me. But I don’t understand why.”
Dominic’s gaze hardened, and she actually experienced the change that came over the man before her. No longer was he the marine biologist about to give her diving lessons. A pissed-off, ready-to-do-battle Navy SEAL stood before her. Dangerous did not begin to describe the vibe rolling off his large, heavily muscled frame. Devan’s body responded instantly to the dominant male holding her. She wet her lips as her core clenched. Nothing like an alpha male to chase away the boogey man. Before she could embarrass herself, he swung her clear of the breakers and strode for the shore.
